quick post!

so last weeks blog was a depressing one about my brothers friends hitting an IED and losing both of his legs in afghanistan....but this one holds good news. He will be okay! just will have a battle to fight for the rest of his life, but he's a fighter and so determined, I'm sure he'll be back on his bike in no time. still just a sad situation...

lets see what else...last saturday my boyfriend took me to disney on ice. now I'm never one to love childish things, but this show was awesome! I LOVED it! and he did too! We're both suckers for Disney movies, so it was a great time! even if it was filled with kids everywhere...(I work at a daycare so I didn't mind!) and he might've liked it because it was at the devils stadium...haha but he said he enjoyed it! and this weekend we're going away to Ricketts Glen,  to hike and hang out at whatevers out there...probably not much. His parents went not to long ago and they loved it! so I'll let oyu know how our big hike goes! It's a little over 7 miles I think so I'm stoked.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! We all have so much to be Thankful for living here in the U.S. :)

  1. Firstly, I am glad that he is ok. This makes everyone think how fortunate they are. Living without your legs will be an up-hill challenge. Hopefully, he is provided with the best medical care made available.

This scares me because my best friend is currenly deployed in Afghanastan; and it seems like these horror stories happen far too often.

  2. Hopefully he will be too! right now he's being taken care of pretty well, and he's flirting with all the nurses so he's in good spirits! as much as it sucks, there's a reason for everything....what the reason is that he lost both of his legs, i'm not sure. He sure is a fighter, so maybe he will help others overcome the same situations.

and i'm sorry your friend is over there. these stories happen far more often then we hear, and the war seems so much more real when you know someone fighting over seas. Send him some care packages, pray and think about him often:) that really helps them get through their time over there

  3. I am so sorry for the poor man who lost both of his legs. I really want to see Disney on Ice as well, but never have gotten a chance. It is great that both of you enjoyed it. Not many men like anything that has to do with Disney!

  4. he is in great spirits! i saw some pictures of him on facebook today and he is all smiles, as much as he can be. he is so positive, it's so great to see! I heard some good news too that he was the most severely hurt...noone died. As much as his life will be a struggle, it is just great to see noone KIA. and you have to go!! there is one in January, not the same one but its something cute i'm sure! and deep down i think a lot of men like Disney, they just won't admit it!..those songs are just too catchy not too
