So, I really waited until the last minute to write my blog, but most of it was on purpose (and the other part was just a super busy schedule). I just really wanted to find one thing to really start off this blogging process on. I have so many things I can rant about, that you all have thought of at least one time or another, but just have never said. Which is what I LOVE to do. I love to watch people, and be real. I would never say anything to anyones face, just because I don't like confrontation, but facebook is always a good out for something annoying that someone does (like talk on the cellphone obnoxiously loud when you're trying to write a big paper, that you're already not too focused on). I thought a blog would be even better for this "people watching", because lets be for real...you ALL see these things, and maybe some of you will be guilty of whatever I noticed that week, but we all are guilty of it at some point or another, because..we're all human.
This week was jammed packed with tons of things to write about, but on Monday something really struck me. Where have all the manners gone? Now I know Kean has students from 18 years and older, so we're all adults...at least we should act like it. Perhaps it's just me, holding high expectations of todays society, but at the same time I don't care where you live, where you grew up, if you're poor or rich, male or female or anything...you can still be nice and polite! Honestly, it doesn't take a lot of effort, and deep down it will make you feel a whole lot better, along with everyone surrounding you. If you're rude, my guess is that you're cranky(harsh I know) and 99% of the time if you're rude you're probably going to make someone else cranky for a little bit too. It's really not that hard. People say a smile is contagious, which is so true! This goes for manners too, I can assure you! Next time you're walking somewhere or someone gives you something drop a little 'Thank you', or 'Please', or 'Excuse me'. Just be chipper:) Lifes too short to be grumpy, and bring other people down!
Now after a quick vent I suppose I will tell you all what happened that made me so cranky....It was about lunch time, I was starving, and tired already, but I was still content with the day, nothing major had happened. So I was stopping in the bathroom on my way to eat, to wash my hands, and as I was leaving I saw a girl coming around the corner, so I stopped and stepped out of the way to let her through, when she just barged on by with not even a ounce of gratitude that I was letting her go, not even an excuse me or thank you! Now, maybe it is just the way I was raised, and I most certainly am not tooting my own horn, but after her friend walked right by, made eye contact and looked at me with disgust (probably because I was in a good mood), and didn't even use any type of manners it just really made me more cranky. You're probably 20 years old, whoever you are...old enough to have been outside in the real world for sometime, and know how a kind, well mannered adult should act.--So, please please act like one:)
I'm sure this sounds like a nagging, venting rant, but I just had to get it off my chest! I'm sure next week will hold plenty more optimism:)

I work in retail and completely understand where you are coming from. I spend most of my day wanting to ask people "where you born in a barn????" and, only because I kind of liking getting my bi-weekly paycheck, decide to bite my tongue. So rant all you want. I will certainly be glad to know I'm not alone!
