Back on track now with my normal Blogging....This week, I think I'll write about presents...now my family isn't rich by anymeans. we live comfortably within our means, and don't have fancy things, just nice things. we all work hard for our money and what we have, so i think this is part of the reason why this bothers me.
I know this happens all over, and I don't mean to sound mean, but it's just really irritating to me, when everyone just concentrates solely on presents and getting getting getting. Christmas isn't about presents, and if you don't believe that, that's okay, its a free country. But to hear and see people who get EVERYTHING handed to them, want more and more, and then ask for extremely expensive things it is so irritating. especially a few people i know. It's awesome if mommy and daddy can buy you your car, and pay for everything. But i'm sorry that's not teaching you anything. My parents can help me out, but I've been working since i was like 9, being a 'mothers helper' and eventually working at daycares and restaurants. I've held two jobs and gone to school full time. I know the value of a dollar, I know what it's like to have money to spend, and not enough money to even sleep....(which i am beyond grateful for my parents that can help me out when i need it). but really....do you REALLY need to ask for that 400$ wallet? or that 800$ purse? or that 80$ shirt? or those 175$ shoes? that's just horrendous to me. if my parents were wealthy enough to give me or buy me that kind of stuff awesome. maybe start getting some nice clothes or things like that, but save the rest and I'll put it as a down payment towards a house or car. why waste hundreds of dollars when you can get something that's just as cute or nice for idk...40... a 40$ wallet, and 90$ purse..fine it's a special holiday...but really..? HUNDREDS? tell your parents to send me the money to pay off my school loans, my car loan, or my car insurance, while I work and go to school.
something on FB really sparked my interest and nerves today...o:)
I completely agree. What makes it worse is, after 2 months some new $400 accessory will come out and they will simply HAVE to have it, though they themselves cannot afford it.
ReplyDeleteOn a similar topic, my best friend isn't quite this bad, but when she started bitching that her parents hadn't saved enough to put her through school I wanted to smack her sooo hard. I struggle to get by, I have loan on top of loan to get me through school, and because they could only afford half her schooling she got nasty. Eww.
But back to the holidays. I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving and have a great upcoming holiday. I love the holidays because I finally get time to see my family!!
exactly!! i don't know how anyone can shell out that kind of money like its nothing lol...ugh..
ReplyDeleteand yuck!! that would be SO annoying! especially because you're working so hard! i know what you're tlaking about.
