I'm not too sure what has happened over time, but it seems like recently people are just so nosey and don't abide by the "personal space" rule anymore. First off, if someone wants to tell you something they will, even if you have to ask a few questions, they will either open up or deny you, you cant pry information out of someone. (yes I know sometimes, we as humans want someone to sort of pry information out of us, because it makes us feel like we are cared about but thats a different topic) I'm talking about just being nosey with general information about friends, or boyfriends or who you like, just stupid stuff. I feel like telling half the people that ask me questions it's none of their business because I only see you IN school. I don't even have your phone number, nor do we talk outside of this class that meets once a week. Why do you think I would want to tell you about my past or current problems. Perhaps it's small talk you want? That's fine...ask me what I did in the past week that I haven't seen you.
I love talking with people, and I'm like an open book, but don't ask me such blunt, personal questions when you're literally inches away from my face. Get to know me first, and I will tell you anything you want to know.
This vent isn't just coming from me too, I was having a conversation with a real friend about this the other day, and it just bugged me out. I feel like nothing can really be private anymore and the sanctity of friendship is dwindling away, with all these nosey acquaintances and social networking that allow you to know anyones waking move if they allow you too. And don't get me wrong I love 'creeping' on peoples lives and finding out new things, its human nature. I just think there is a way of doing so, and a time and a place.
**ALSO** sidenote....I was looking online at bags and a wallet...yes a wallet..was 400$.....I'm STILL SHOCKED...
I completely agree. No one provides personal space now-a-days. No matter where I go, whether it be school, work, the bank, anywhere... there just isn't privacy or respect for personal borders.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya! it's just soo annoying! especially now a days when someone can find out anything about you with simple everyday information!
